Due to the application supporting multiple languages, and the config editor being able to automatically translate texts using DeepL, both the application and the config editor use the same language strings as the DeepL API for consistency and convenience.
When using an input or an option-menu to select a user-language, for instance, these language codes should be used. In the application itself, they will be displayed as proper language words (i.e. 'EN-US' will be shown as 'English (US)').
